You can format sections in your transcript from the selection toolbar to make them bold, italic or underlined.

How to format text

  • Select the text in your transcript you want to format
  • Click the format button of your choice from the selection toolbar to apply

How to clear formattings from text

There are a couple different ways that you can clear formattings from text:

  • Select the formatted text in your transcript, then click on the format actoin button of your choice
  • Use the equivalent keyboard shortcut

Deleting vs ignoring text

Deleting or ignoring text in your transcript are two different ways of how to remove certain parts of your transcript. Consider how they can be used:

  • Deleted text will not appear in an exported text file or published transcript
  • Ignored text can be included in an exported transcription
  • Ignored text will not appear in subtitles or published media

Delete transcript content

Delete will non-destructively remove the transcript content. Just highlight a section of transcript, and press backspace or Delete button.

Ignoring transcript content

Ignoring text will also non-destructively edit your content but will strikethrough the text in your transcript instead of removing it.

This is useful for seeing your edits in the transcript or if you think you might want to bring a text back into the final output later. To ignore text, highlight a section of transcript, and click on the ignore button.
