LinguSocial Meetings gives you the flexibility to run your meetings from anywhere — whether you are the meeting organizer or an attendee. Let's take a look at starting and joining a conference in LinguSocial Meetings.
First of all, you'll need a reliable internet connection to get the most out of LinguSocial Meetings. Also make sure that you have enough transcription minutes left in your account, since all of your meetings are transcribed and translated automatically for all participants in real-time.
LinguSocial Meetings offer two different ways to start a meeting:
1. A private meeting with another LinguSocial user
You can initiate meettings in several ways:
2. A public meeting via sharable link
To start a public meeting with, simply go to Recents -> press the action button on the bottom and choose between an audio or video meeting. make sure to select the public meeting checkbox. This will generate a publicly sharable link that you can send to the person that you want to meet with.
To Join, simply open the link that you copied or go to Recents -> press the action button and press `Join Meeting`. Then enter the meeting code and you will join the meeting.
Important: Before you join the meeting, please make sure that your Microphone, headset, webcam etc are all working and selected correctly.
If you'd like to turn on/off your microphone or camera before starting the conference, select the appropriate icons first.
You'll enter the meeting and await the arrival of any other Participants. Since you're the Organizer, you'll have access to the host controls.
Remember that we currently only support Google Chrome for meetings.
Private meeting
To join, simply press the accept button and you will automatically join the meeting.
Public meeting
Open the public link that was shared with you. Enter your full name and select the language that you speak. It is important that you select the correct dialect, since we transcribe and translate the meeting for all participants in real-time.
Select the Microphone, Headset, Webcam that you want to use or enable / disable them. Once you're all set, simply press on the join button and we will inform the host that you are ready to join the meeting. We then connect you once the meeting host has accepted your request.
